Recycling Plant

Challenge

The City of Calgary, Alberta required a waste recycling plant for their 120,000 tons per year of recyclable materials. The City commissioned CP Manufacturing to engineer the single largest recycling facility in North America in order to meet this objective. Due to the complexity, scope and time constraints associated with this project, CP Manufacturing contracted Meehan’s Industrial to assemble the plant from 108 tractor trailer loads of parts and equipment delivered from California, Nashville and Europe.

Solution

Working closely with the customer’s project manager, Meehan’s Industrial team worked efficiently and continuously monitored all critical aspects of this complex and time sensitive project. In order to meet tight deadlines, many of the parts were custom fit and assembled on site while still meeting the engineering requirements.

Result

Meehan’s Industrial team accomplished final assembly in just 5 months and delivered a fully assembled system that took CP Manufacturing little or no time to get up and running. The facility operates at full capacity and is the “star” of Calgary’s waste management infrastructure.
